Anthony Opal (b. 1983) is a poet, translator, and editor. His poetry collections include Action (2014), Procession (2020), The Roof Above Our Heads (2021), Another Animal (2023), Tom Waits&#38;nbsp;(2024), and Tape Loops, 2011 (2025), as well as translations of Matsuo Bashō, Yosa Buson, Kobayashi Issa, Masaoka Shiki, Taneda Santōka, Hatano Sōha, and a linguistic survey of the Book of Jonah. His work has appeared in various magazines and journals:&#38;nbsp;Boston Review, Harvard Divinity Bulletin,&#38;nbsp;TriQuarterly, Notre Dame Review,&#38;nbsp;Poetry, and elsewhere.&#38;nbsp;He received an MFA from Northwestern University, winning the 2014 Distinguished Thesis Award, and currently lives in Chicago, IL, where he is Editor of&#38;nbsp;The Economy Press. He has two daughters.
